Hanseatic Ski Race, Kings Lynn – Huge Success

For the third year running the historic waterfront of King’s Lynn and the river Great Ouse hosted the Hanseatic Water Ski Race . . .

The historic port of Kings Lynn once again held the Hanseatic Ski Race during a weekend of high temperatures, high spirits and some great ski racing. Third year for this event and it is great to see the competition evolving into a major spectacle and crowd draw for historic Kings Lynn. With 60 skiers entered into the event, 42 boats and competitors from overseas to include entries from Belgium, Austria and Australia, the event boasted an age range from 4 years old in the Under 8s category to those in their early 60s.

In baking heat the event provided high drama and drew a crowd from the ski racing community from across the UK and locals keen to enjoy the fine weather and the thrills and spills of water ski racing. As always thanks go out to those who supported this event to include all the competitors, judges and officials and the sponsors including Hunstanton Water Ski Club, Kings Lynn and West Norfolk Council and Marriott’s Warehouse.
