Team GB Worlds

The Paris venue of Choisy-le-Roi on the City’s outskirts over the weekend certainly created a very special attraction for the current world waterski champions of the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (IWWF). Every single gold medalist from the previous World Championships in Chapala, Mexico returned to defend their titles on September 6/10.

With one of the most impressive entry lists for many years, one hundred and sixty of the most talented Waterski athletes competed from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Belarus, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Finland, France, Great Britain, Germany, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Lithuania, Mexico, Norway, New Zealand, Peru, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine and USA.

Podium Worlds

Team GB produced some amazing results with Freddie Winter taking Gold and Will Asher taking Silver in Slalom. Also Jack Critchley was very close to a medal place with just 10cms between his fourth place in Jump, missing out on a Bronze medal after an exceptional season.  Well done to all the team who took part and all those who helped in this combined team effort to secure an exceptional medal haul at this level of competition against an incredibly strong entry - we are very proud.
