About our workshop and talk hosts

Keynote - Jenny Jones, Olympic Snowboarder

Jenny Jones made history at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, winning Great Britain’s first ever medal in a snow event. Taking home bronze in the women’s slopestyle category as well as an FIS World Cup silver and no less than three X-Games golds, Jenny has become the UK’s most globally respected and successful female snowboarder. Now busier than ever, Jenny continues to snowboard across the world and spread the good word not just about snowboarding but encouraging participation in any and all sport. Getting more girls and women into sport is a passion of hers alongside instilling a belief in as many as she can that anyone and everyone should be aiming for the incredible heights that she has achieved. In a relaxed Q & A talk, Jenny will chat about how she got to where she is now and the incredible story behind her journey.

Rod Beattie:

You would struggle to find a more passionate, knowledgable and  harder working member of the skiing world. Rod is one of BWSW most senior coach trainers and assessors having been a qualified coach and a key member of the team that has made the coaching course what it  is today. All of this on top of 20 years as an integral part of the core of the barefooting community as a top level athlete and British squad member and also the squad head coach. We’re in no better hands when it comes to barefoot coaching.

Matt Crowhurst:

As with all our workshop and talk hosts, Matt has been in this world a very long time. Having racked up an impressive list of national titles in junior tournament skiing and throughout his wakeboard career he has also worked as a freelance coach from the age of 15 across both sports. Matt has become one of Europe’s premiere coaches across all wake disciplines which has, over the past 8 years, translated seamlessly into becoming one of BWSW’s most experienced and sort after coach trainers and assessors.

Ryan and Rachel Davis:

You don’t get a more involved pair than these two across every one of the BWSW disciplines. Ryan and Rachel Davis are not only two of the UK’s best kneeboarders having tallied up a mass of silverware between them, they also live for encouraging participation at every level and are two of the most proactive BWSW Level 2 coaches around, across multiple disciplines.

Jack Hammersley:

Skiing and wakeboarding is in Jack’s blood. He’s been on the water from a very young age, growing up at South Lake with his father, Paul, running the show. Then, as wakeboarding became his passion, Jack went on to hone his coaching and riding skills at Xtreme Gene in which time he became one of the UK’s best riders and coaches. Five years ago Jack then took on owner/operator responsibilities for one of the original homes of UK boat riding, Quays Wake & Ski, and has taken it from strength to strength.

Jack and Alfie Constable:

The constable clan, because there loads of them, are proof positive of how incredible straight line cable parks are for progression. From North Devon Wake Park opening not that many years ago, the wakeboard scene has been blown away by the entire clan’s impact on the scene and in particular how Jack and Alfie have been pushing the level of riding through the roof here in the UK. As resident BWSW Level 2 qualified coaches at their family run park, these two also have some incredible coaching in them too. You’ll be in safe, enthused and ever passionate hands for this cable wake park workshop.
