The General Lascelles Fund - Memorial Grant Applications Now Open

Former BWSW Honorary President Major General Anthony Lascelles' estate left a major bequest to BWSW to support talented young atheletes. Each year the Guardians of the Lascelles Fund accept applications from young athletes. Grants are to be awarded to “highly promising” young athletes who are “active competitors in a recognised sporting division”. The “guardians” of the fund are made up of representatives from all disciplines to select athletes from the applications received.

Criteria for Applications:
The “Guardians” of the fund left to The British Water Ski & Wakeboard Federation Ltd by Major General Anthony Lascelles set the criteria for the awards.

The Guardians are Liz Hobbs MBE (Chairman), Karen Brooks, Nicky Caine, Graham Creedy and Mark Beard. An application form is available online. The closing date to receive all applications will be 5pm on Friday 26th November 2021.

Purpose of the Fund:
To assist highly promising young athletes from any recognised sporting division to win medals at European and World Championships.

Outline Criteria – Are You….
• Under 18 as of 1st January 2022.
• An active competitor / licence holder in a recognised sports division of BWSW.
• Active in a division that has E&A (European) and World Championships.
• On the way up – and by that we mean improving and nearing the top of your age category.
• Talented and committed.
• A British Citizen.

It was General Lascelles express wish that applicants filled in their own applications for a grant. We understand that you may wish to support them in their application, but please ensure where possible that the applicant completes this form.
