Women & Girls Taster Sessions 2026

WAG

In 2024, British Water Ski & Wakeboard delivered its first national programme of Women and Girls Taster sessions, and we were delighted that hundreds of female participants attended the clubs and facilities that were part of that initiative.

After another successful delivery of the programme, this year, we are working with our clubs/centres to deliver the 2026 programme, which will be even bigger and better than in previous years. These sessions are designed for women, girls, and gender-diverse people* who are either taking up or returning to the sport, providing a supportive and welcoming environment to get involved and become part of our community. Participants can benefit from a variety of options, dependent upon location, including

  • Subsidised sessions
  • Social events
  • Women specific equipment
  • Support and safety
  • Friendliness & a welcoming environment
  • Qualified and experienced coaches/instructors/drivers/operators

This is what our women said; "No one felt like they were falling behind or that they were the worst there", "There were three mums and daughters which enabled for a great bonding session", "The support and encourgament from all of the women and girls was amazing", "We celebrated our successes together", "The day was so relaxed", "We all enjoyed it so much that we booked up for the next event there and then".

WAG

Applicable to all sessions is the sense of fun and camaraderie.  There will be opportunities to join a friendly and welcoming community, meet with women just like you who may be nervous and unsure but want to give waterskiing and/or wakeboarding a go.  You can come on your own or bring a friend and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the club/centre offering these sessions.

You can find out details on the clubs/centres hosting the specific women and girls taster sessions by viewing the Women and Girls sessions category within the event finder module at the bottom of this page.

* Gender-diverse is an inclusive term that may include non-binary, gender-fluid, trans, and other people whose gender identity differs from traditional binary definitions. We welcome anyone who feels this programme is right for them and would benefit from a women and girls-centred space
