Job Description

You will teach Waterski/Wakeboarding to children aged 6-17 on average at one of our incredible private summer camps in the USA. You will be responsible for teaching different skill levels throughout the summer across an 8-hour activity period with time off. All meals and accommodation are included for the duration of your work placement.

Working at the waterfront may include a Red Cross Lifeguarding course that will be provided by your camp employer. You would also be responsible for joining the rest of the waterfront staff on safety drills, training, and generally contributing to a strong team. Being on the waterfront team also offers a huge variety of roles and activities alongside instructing wake sports.

Candidates should be of a sufficient level to pass the ARC swim test including the following: This includes a 300-yard swim using front crawl or breaststroke, a 2-minute tread using legs only and the ability to retrieve a 10-lb dive weight from 7 ft deep, surface and swim 20 yds with the weight, using legs only and exit the pool without using a ladder within 100 seconds.

Skills and Experience ...

We look for individuals with 3+ years of coaching waterski/wakeboarding and/or 5+ years experience in activity at club or university level.  Must possess one of the following qualifications: British Water Ski & Wakeboard (BWSW)  Level 1 Coach + /  UKCC/BWSW Level 2 Waterski & Wakeboard Coaching Qualification.

AmeriCamp Premium is a visa sponsor and recruiter, we can guarantee a minimum salary of $2,350/£1,869 for the summer. This role requires a J1-camp counsellor visa which we as an organisation assist you in getting. With this, you will also have 30 days post-placement to travel the US as a tourist. You will be required to complete an enhanced DBS through our organisation in line with health & safety requirements.

*Our program is affiliated with the US Department of State, this job does involve program/recruiter fees & third-party costs to be paid to AmeriCamp however, you will always earn more than your program fees cost.
