Aubrey Sheena

10 February 2026

We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Aubrey Sheena, a former President of the British Federation and a stalwart of the sport in the UK and globally for half a century.

Aubrey began waterskiing at Ruislip in the 1950s and represented GB throughout the 1960s.  He served as both Treasurer and President of the British Federation and had leading roles in the sport's administration at European and World level.

In 2007, he was honoured with a place in the International Federation's Hall of Fame.

The International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation described Aubrey as "one of waterskiing’s most dedicated volunteers and a man whose quiet strength and generosity left an extraordinary mark on our community".

His impact on the sport is immeasurable.

Aubrey died on February 7th, eight months after he lost his beloved wife, Arlette, who was always a great support to him. According to Jewish tradition, his funeral took place quickly after his passing, on February 9th.

Our sympathies go to his children and grandchildren.

A full tribute will appear in the spring edition of the BWSW magazine.
