British Water Ski Racing - Development Day

10 April 2019

Llangorse
British Water Ski Racing are holding a training camp at Llangorse Caravan Park, Llangorse Lake, Brecon, Powys LD3 7TR
on the 30th and 31st of May.

The training camp is open to any BWSW member.  The purpose of the training camp is to showcase the sport of ski racing.
All who come along will have the chance to learn what if feels like to get up on a Race ski and to learn how to ski ‘wrapped’.

There will be three age groups:
8 to 12 years
12 to 16 years
16 and above

If you are able to ski on a mono ski at the moment then we can say with high confidence that, after the training camp, you should be able to ski on a racing ski and also be able to start in the ‘wrapped’ position.
The 8 to 12-year-old group will mainly consist of each skier doing basic skiing behind a Mastercraft boat. If any of them show that they have a natural ability then they will have the opportunity to ski on an intermediate race ski.
There will also be some activities off the water which will concentrate on fitness, nutrition etc.
The number of places is limited to 21. There will be a cost of £20 for each person who comes whether taking part or just accompanying someone.
We have arranged for a camping area to be available for those who wish to come along and support this training camp.  Toilets and a Shower will be provided.
A detailed programme of how the two days will be structured will be provided nearer the time.
