Five go to The Masters

18 May 2026

Five British waterskiers will compete at one of the biggest international competitions of the year - The Masters in Georgia, USA - next weekend.

They include three former or reigning Masters' Champions, a previous Masters' medallist and one young skier who will making his debut on Robin Lake.

The athletes competing are:

  • Joel Poland (Men's Jump and Tricks)
  • Freddie Winter (Men's Slalom)
  • Will Asher (Men's Slalom)
  • Jack Critchley (Men's Jump)
  • Seb Turp (Junior Men's Tricks)

Joel Poland is a three-time Masters winner in Men’s Jump and the defending champion.  He is the reigning World Champion in the event. Last month he broke the overall waterski world record for the ninth time, though the record is still awaiting official ratification by the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation.
