GB Skiers Win Medals at Disabled Worlds

The GB Team of four athletes won 11 medals, including 7 golds and the team bronze at the IWWF World Disabled Waterski Championships in California, which ended on Sunday.

 

The team was made up of Claire Ellis, Jill Williams, Hannah Tomsett and Tim Farr and the competition took place at Shortline Lake, Elk Grove near Sacramento. 

Claire, aka Bricko, (AL2F) won four gold medals and one silver in the Standing Ladies category.  She was first in tricks, jump and overall and also won the Tournament Ladies Overall title which takes in all the categories. She was second in slalom.

Jill (V23F) won three golds and a silver in Visually Impaired Ladies.  She finished on top of the podium in tricks, jump and overall and was second in slalom.

Hannah Tomsett (MP5F) took the silver medal in Seated Ladies slalom. 

The scores of all four team members contributed to the Team bronze. GB finished behind gold and silver medallists, the USA and Canada.
